Datassential’s tools are her happy place and a job that allows her to spend all day finding new food trends and playing with data is a dream come true. She has a BS in Decision Science and a BA in Hispanic Studies from Carnegie Mellon University. She is a hobby veggie gardener and mom to two budding foodies.

Renee Lee Wege is a Trendologist and Senior Publications Manager with Datassential, the leading global food and beverage intelligence company. Renee (literally) grew up in the restaurant industry and is an expert and lover of all things related to food, drink, and the color pink. Through the course of nearly 10 years with Datassential, Renee has researched, written, and edited hundreds of food and beverage trend reports and is a regular co-host and presenter on Datassential’s Simply Smarter webinars, where she’s shared her expertise with peak audiences of 2,000-plus industry members. When she’s not researching, writing, or spotting trends, Renee polishes her presenting prowess with Toastmasters and serves as the Vice President of Public Relations with Toastmasters of Lincoln Park. She has commanded audiences as small as one or two (such as in front of her favorite human, her three-nager Luke, and “dog-ter” or dog-daughter Franny), to as large as 400 (mainstage speaker at Flavor Experience 2024), to anywhere in between (“Cross-Utilization and Trends Deglazed” at Dot Foods’ Innovations for 85 culinary professionals).
